There are a limited number of paid POCN Mentor opportunities, which require a 9-month commitment to mentor a group of 5 to 6 mentees.
Peer Recommendation
If you are applying to be a mentor, we ask that you provide the names and email addresses of two peers (either NPs or PAs – or one of each) who know you and can support your consideration as a mentor. These NPs and/or PAs will be contacted to confirm your appropriateness as a mentor in supporting NP/PA mentees.
By providing these names, you consent for POCN to contact these individuals with a brief questionnaire supporting your suitability to mentor. They will be sent a description of the program and will be asked three questions: 1) whether they know you 2) how long they’ve known you and 3) whether they believe you’d be a good mentor to NPs and PAs.
They will also be asked if they’d like to share anything else with the Mentorship Program Committee that may help in their decision to select you as a mentor.
